Learn more about our mission, customers, and business
We’re looking for passionate individuals to drive and build a modern constituent service platform for government. We were founded with one goal in mind: improve the user experience of democracy. As a mission driven company, we are building something that has the potential to change the trajectory of our democracy. We are looking for team members who are as passionate about our mission as we are!
Set yourself up for success by showing up to your interviews with clear answers to the question “Why Indigov?” and an ability to demonstrate basic knowledge of our mission. Articulate what value you can add to Indigov in the short, mid, and long term
Indigov is made up of 60+ team members who all play a unique role in helping our organization and our customers succeed. Because we are a small team, each time we add a new position, we are adding specific skills directed at solving a specific problem.
That’s why it’s incredibly important to articulate how your experience and skills can be applied to Indigov directly.
- Do you have a skill that might help move Indigov forward as a business?
- Have you operated in a work environment similar to Indigov?
- Do you have lessons learned from other organizations that Indigov could learn from?
- Do you have skills that the Indigov team is currently missing?
We are always looking to enhance our already incredible team. If you think you have value you can bring to Indigov, be sure to share that during your interview.
Demonstrate an ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
When assessing new team members we want to get a sense of how an interviewee will perform in our fast-paced work environment. This means that we expect team members to be able to:
- Successfully juggle competing priorities
- Maintain a commitment to high-quality work even when the pace of work is fast
- Stay responsive to our customers and other team members
- Excel in ever-changing environments
Share examples of how you have thrived in uncertainty, created structure in challenging situations or established processes that improved the workplace experience for your team and customers.
Embody Indigov’s core values
We look to enhance our culture and bring new perspectives to our work with every new hire we bring on. As we’ve scaled, we’ve codified our core values so we don’t lose sight of the values that have made us successful and make us who we are! A few of our values include:
- Ownership. Team members are empowered to make decisions and share in the company's successes and setbacks
- Accountability. Team members are held accountable for what they commit to, and take responsibility for their decisions and actions
- Grit. Team members persevere in overcoming obstacles and remain passionate and committed to long term success
- Low Ego, High Competence. Team members recognize nothing is beneath them, we all pitch-in to get the job done.
- Government not politics. We embrace the value of a governmental system kept in balance by a diverse set of opinions and perspectives. We endeavor to serve as large an array of American society as possible. We do not make decisions of who we serve based on party or political beliefs. As a company and team we do not officially encourage any political beliefs - we stand for better government, not politics.
- Conscientiousness. Thinking through the discrete downstream ramifications for your actions, the things you say, how you make people feel matters and is a skill to be developed that we admire. At Indigov, we believe that Everything you do matters- to you, to your teammates, now, later and always.
- Sense of humor. Humor is a crucial pressure release valve and generally makes life more fun.
Understanding these values and how you have exemplified them in previous roles or in your life will help you excel in your interviews. It will also provide you with context in your conversations, as you meet with many different stakeholders across the organization. Though we are all different, we are bound by our commitment to these common values.
